NEW DELHI: Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik revealed his all-time India playing XI across formats in a video posted by Cricbuzz on YouTube as Independence Day special.
The lineup includes five batters, two all-rounders, two spinners, and two pacers, showcasing some of the greatest cricketers India has ever produced.
Opening the batting, Karthik selected Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharmatwo of India’s most explosive openers.Sehwag and Sharma are known for their aggressive batting style and their ability to dominate opposition bowlers.At No. 3, Karthik chose former Indian skipper Rahul Dravidfollowed by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar at No. 4. Both Dravid and Tendulkar are synonymous with consistency and excellence in Indian cricket.
Karthik placed Virat Kohli at No. 5, widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of the modern era. Kohli’s inclusion adds further strength to the team’s formidable batting lineup.

For the all-rounder slots, Karthik picked Yuvraj Singh and Ravindra Jadeja. Yuvraj is known for his explosive batting and match-winning abilities, while Jadeja brings versatility with both bat and ball.
The pace attack is led by Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler, alongside Zaheer Khan, one of India’s most successful left-arm pacers.
Karthik opted for Ravichandran Ashwin and Anil Kumble in the spin department. Both Ashwin and Kumble are two of India’s most successful spinners who have tormented batters worldwide.
Additionally, Karthik named Harbhajan Singh as the 12th man, acknowledging his significant contributions to Indian cricket.
