India’s second and third-largest passenger vehicle manufacturers, Hyundai and Tata, are ready to launch new SUVs in the early weeks of September 2024. While Tata Motors will announce the prices of the Curvv petrol and diesel versions on 2nd September, the South Korean automaker will reveal the Alcazar facelift on 9th September. Let’s take a look at the key details of both upcoming models.
Tata Curvv ICE – 2nd September
Despite being a coupe SUV, the Tata Curvv directly competes with mid-size SUVs, including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos. The carmaker has already announced the prices of the Curvv EV, while its petrol and diesel versions will go on sale on 2nd September 2024. The engine setup of the Curvv will consist of an all-new 125bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder direct-injection turbo petrol, a 120bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol, and a 118bhp, 1.5L diesel unit.
Tata’s new coupe SUV will have lots of features on board, such as ventilated six-way adjustable front seats, front and rear 45W Type-C charging ports, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, ESP, six airbags, and more. The Tata Curvv EV is being offered within the price range of Rs 17.49 lakh – Rs 21.99 lakh, while its ICE version is likely to come at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh – Rs 11 lakh onwards.
Hyundai Alcazar Facelift – 9th September
Hyundai Motor Company will reveal the prices of the updated Alcazar three-row SUV on 9th September 2024. Minimal changes are expected to be made inside and out, while the engine-gearbox combinations might remain intact. Most of the cosmetic changes will be visible at the front end, including a slightly tweaked grille and bumper. The SUV will also get newly designed alloy wheels, side claddings, tailgate, and taillamp clusters.
The twin-screen setup and soft-touch materials could be borrowed from the Creta SUV. For power, the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will use the same 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engines. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard across the model lineup. The turbo-petrol and diesel motors will be exclusively offered with the 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, respectively.
