The Maruti Suzuki eVX, the first fully electric SUV from the Indo-Japanese automaker, will have its world premiere in its production-ready form in January 2025. The unveiling event is scheduled to take place at next year’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo, which will be held from January 17th to 22nd in New Delhi. India will serve as the production hub for the upcoming Maruti electric SUV, with an annual output target of 1.5 lakh units. The model will first be launched in Japan and Europe, followed by the Indian market, where it is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2025. Read: Upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs In Next 2 Years
Measuring around 4.3 meters in length, the new Maruti electric SUV is likely to retain most of its design elements from the concept. The front end will be adorned with a closed-off grille, large headlamp clusters, an upright nose, and a flat bonnet. The EV will feature muscular shoulder creases and squarish wheel arches, along with a coupe SUV-like roofline and connected LED taillamps.
The interior layout could be futuristic, as seen in the concept. The Maruti eVX is expected to have a dual-screen setup (one functioning as an infotainment system and another as an instrument cluster). There will be a floating center console with a rotary dial, a two-spoke steering wheel, a frameless rearview mirror, and features such as ADAS technology and a 360-degree camera.
Specifications of the Maruti Suzuki eVX are still under wraps. However, the electric SUV is reported to come with a battery of around 60kWh and an electric motor. This setup is expected to deliver a range of around 500 km on a single charge. An AWD (all-wheel-drive) system will also be available. In terms of underpinning, the new eVX will be designed on an all-new architecture derived from Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard platform.
