Vijayawada:Education minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday vehemently denied allegations by opposition about cleanliness and operational practices at the Anna canteen in Tanuku.
Lokesh termed it as “malicious propaganda,” saying opposition leaders are misleading public. “Their aim is to tarnish the reputation of Anna canteens,” he stated.
The minister maintained that Andhra Pradesh government is taking all steps to maintain high standards with regard to preparation of food and keeping the food safe at Anna canteens.
On the day, Eluru mayor Sheikh Noorjahan and other YSR Congress leaders joined Telugu Desam in the presence of Lokesh. Led by Eluru TD MLA Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), the mayor and her husband S.M.R. Pedababu joined the TD, along with former chairman of EUDA and current president of YSRC Eluru town committee B. Srinivas, former chairman of AMC Mancham Maibabu and several others.
The minister welcomed these leaders into the TD with party scarves.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said YSRC has not learnt any lesson from its defeat in the elections. “It is constantly spreading bad propaganda against the people’s government,” he remarked.
He maintained that the alliance government will fulfil every promise made during the elections.
