Khushbu Sundar recently highlighted the importance of supporting victims of sexual abuse in the Malayalam film industry, following the release of the Justice K Hema Committee report.
She emphasized that victim-blaming and questioning are detrimental, breaking their spirit and hindering justice.

Khushbu Sundar praised the formation of the Justice K Hema Committee, calling it a crucial step in addressing abuse.
She acknowledged the significant challenges women face, noting that while men also encounter issues, women often suffer more.

She reflected on her own painful experience, sharing that she was abused by her father, a person who should have been her protector.
Khushbu said, “Some ask me what took me so long to speak about my father’s sexual abuse. I was abused at the hands of the person who was supposed to provide me the strongest arms to hold me if I fell.”

She admitted that she should have spoken out sooner but stressed that her abuse was not a career compromise.
Sundar urged men to support victims and advocated for unwavering solidarity from all, pointing out that many women lack family support and face exploitation in their quest for success.
She called on women to speak out and uphold their dignity, promising her support to all those who have faced similar experiences.
