Hyderabad: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Employees, Teachers, and Workers has announced the contribution of a day’s basic salary from government employees, teachers, and contract employees, amounting to ₹130 crore, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for flood relief.

The JAC convened a meeting at the TNGOs Central Union Office to discuss the flood situation due to the recent heavy rain.

A formal letter expressing the willingness to contribute was handed over to the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, during a meeting held in Mahbubabad district. The delegation led by JAC leaders Maram Jagdeesh, Eluri Srinivas Rao, and Mujeeb, general secretary of JAC, received appreciation from the Chief Minister.

Prominent JAC leaders such as Sripal Reddy, Gaddam Gyaneshwar, Mujeeb, Sthitaprajna, Ravinder Reddy, Chandrasekhar Goud, Madhusudan Reddy, Satyanarayana, Manipal Reddy, Venkat, and other employee leaders were also present during the event.

GHMC corporators, belonging to all political parties, decided to donate their one month’s honorarium to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid those impacted by the devastating floods.

In addition to the contributions from state government employees, several other organisations and individuals have stepped forward to support the flood relief efforts. The State Bank of India (SBI) donated one day’s salary of its employees working in Telangana, amounting to ₹5 crore,for the flood relief measures. SBI chief general manager (CGM) Rajesh Kumar handed over a cheque to Revanth Reddy and Deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Aurobindo Pharma, under the leadership of its managing director, K. Nityananda Reddy, handed over ₹5 crore to CMRF. AIG Hospitals under the leadership of its chairman Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy handed over ₹1 crore donation. Noted cinema producer Dil Raju contributed ₹25 lakh each to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to support the flood-affected families.
