The Maruti Swift CNG is all set to go on sale with its official price announcement on 12th September 2024. The model will come with the 1.2L, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Compared to the regular petrol engine, which delivers 82bhp and 112Nm, the Swift CNG might be slightly less powerful but torquier. However, the CNG variant will surely be more fuel-efficient, with reduced emissions and operational costs. Suzuki’s new 1.2L petrol engine is claimed to deliver a mileage of 24.80kmpl (MT) and 25.75kmpl (AMT).

In terms of pricing and positioning, the Maruti Swift CNG will directly compete with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, Tata Tiago CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG, and Tata Punch CNG. The prices of the CNG variants are expected to be around Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 higher than their regular petrol counterparts. Currently, the Maruti Swift hatchback lineup is available within the price range of Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh (all ex-showroom).
