Olympic wrestler Bajrang Punia, who recently joined the Congress, Sunday received a threat over WhatsApp warning him of dire consequences.
According to police, Bajrang got a WhatsApp message from a foreign phone number in which he was told to either quit the Congress immediately or face dire consequences.
Punia has filed a complaint with the Bahalgarh police in Sonipat. A police officer said they received a complaint from Punia after which they launched an investigation. Bahalgarh SHO Madan Singh said, “The matter is under investigation…”
The party later fielded Phogat from Julana seat for the Haryana Assembly polls while Punia was appointed as working chairman of All India Kisan Congress.
