Based on the all-new Swift, the Swift CNG is Maruti Suzuki’s 14TH CNG-powered vehicle for the fiercely competitive Indian car market.
The Swift CNG, which starts from Rs 8.20 lakh, is available in three trims – VXi, VXi (O) and ZXi.
Maruti is the biggest automaker with CNG-powered models in the country, targeting annual sales of six lakh CNG-powered cars and SUVs.
Last year, it sold around 4.77 lakh CNG cars. In the April-August 2024 period, Maruti sold 2.21 lakh CNG cars and SUVs.
“The Swift brand has always been synonymous with spirited performance and iconic style. With the launch of the Epic New Swift S-CNG, we are not just expanding its rich legacy but taking it to new heights,” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India.
The Swift CNG is powered by the same 1.2-litre Z-series petrol engine as the standard version.
The new Z-series engine is said to deliver a fuel efficiency of 32.85 km/kg (ARAI rated), an improvement of over 6 per cent compared to its predecessor.
In CNG mode, this engine delivers 68.79 BHP and 101.8 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Swift CNG comes with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Suzuki Connect, automatic climate control with rear AC vents and a wireless charger.
The car also gets a whole host of safety features, including 6 airbags, ESP and Hill Hold Assist.
The new Swift S-CNG is also available through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe at an all-inclusive monthly subscription fee starting from Rs 21,628.
