BYD will replace the e6 electric MPV with the eMax 7, which will go on sale in October 2024. Last but not least, the new Renault Duster 7-seater SUV (Dacia Bigster) will make its global debut in October. Let’s take a look at the key details of the upcoming SUVs and MPVs.

Upcoming SUVs and MPVs

Kia Carnival/EV9 – 3rd Oct

New Car Launches In Coming Weeks

Bookings for the new Kia Carnival commenced on 16th September with a token sum of Rs 2 lakh. However, its prices will be announced on 3rd October alongside the EV9 electric SUV. A few noticeable changes will be made to its exterior and interior. Features such as the updated digital key with fingerprint recognition, a digital rearview mirror, a HUD, and ambient lighting will be offered alongside the pre-existing features. No changes will be made to its engine setup. The 2024 Kia Carnival will continue with the 2.2L diesel engine.

The Kia EV9 will be the brand’s flagship SUV in India. It will be brought in via the CBU route and is estimated to be priced above Rs 1 crore. This fully imported SUV will be based on the born-electric e-GMP flexible skateboard platform and will come with a three-row seating arrangement. Globally, it’s offered with three powertrain options – two single-motor RWD and one AWD with a dual-motor setup.

Nissan Magnite Facelift – 4th Oct

New Nissan Magnite Facelift

The 2024 Nissan Magnite facelift will be launched on 4th October 2024. The carmaker will manufacture the subcompact SUV for both domestic and export markets. It’s expected to receive minimal cosmetic changes and feature upgrades while retaining the same engine setup. Spy images hint that the new Magnite might feature an updated front grille and bumper, along with a new signature for the LED DRLs. It will also get new alloy wheels. Inside, there could be new trims and upholstery. The new Magnite facelift will continue to be powered by the same 1.0L naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines, producing 72bhp with 96Nm and 100bhp with 160Nm, respectively.

eMax 7 WORLD

BYD-eMax7-Launch

The eMax 7 WORLD is essentially the updated version of its predecessor, the e6. The electric MPV is reported to be offered in 6- and 7-seat configurations with upgraded leatherette upholstery. It will feature a fixed panoramic glass roof and an ADAS suite, along with new switchgear, an updated center console with faux wood and aluminum inserts, and soft-touch materials on the dashboard. In India, the BYD eMax 7 is likely to come with the 71.8kWh battery pack carried over from its predecessor.

Renault Duster 7-Seater Debut

Renault Bigster SUV Concept

Renault has already confirmed the third-gen Duster and a new 7-seater SUV for the Indian market. Dacia, Renault’s budget brand, will unveil the production-ready version of the Bigster three-row SUV concept at the 2024 Paris Motor Show in October. Renault’s 7-seater SUV will be based on the Bigster and is likely to arrive in 2026. It will surely be longer and have a more rugged look than the 5-seater Duster. In fact, its interior and material quality will also be more upmarket. The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV will be underpinned by the CMF-B platform and could be offered with either a 1.6L petrol hybrid or a 1.2L turbo petrol engine.
