Hyderabad: BJP leaders have urged Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to ensure firm implementation of the Land Transfer Regulation Act 1 of 1970 (1/70 Act) in agency areas of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad as there is an increase in atrocities and false cases being against tribals.
The BJP delegation, led by Tribal Morcha leader Dr Kalyan Nayak, stated in the memorandum that over 500 Muslim families had encroached upon agency areas in Jainoor. “These illegal encroachers are benefitting from schemes intended for tribals,” the memorandum claimed.
Dr Nayak urged the Governor to shift non-tribals from the agency areas. “Non-tribals have encroached on the land and constructed pucca houses in the agency areas,” he claimed.
Stating that tribal culture was in danger, Dr. Nayak said the agency areas have been facing frequent law and order problems. He also stated that 64 “Love Jihad” cases have been reported in the tribal areas of Jainoor. He said the Governor had assured that he would visit Jainoor and do justice.
BJP ST Morcha national executive member Bikkunath Nayak, state general secretaries Nenavath Ravi Nayak, Kotnaka Vijay, spokesperson Anusha, among others were present during the meeting with the Governor.
