45th FIDE Chess Olympiad Round 8 2024 Live: The Indian chess team has soundly defeated the Iranian team in the 8th round of the ongoing Chess Olympiad in Budapest with Arjun Erigaisi and Gukesh winning with black pieces while Vidit Gujrathi claimed victory with white. In the final game, Praggnanandhaa was held to a draw as India won 3.5-0.5. The Indian team now has 16 points from eight games.
Meanwhile, in the women’s section Vaishali lost her game against Poland’s Monika Socko while the rest of the three players are battling on.
