The upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 recently caught on camera without any camouflage in its production-ready avatar on a foreign land. It will be the next big product launch from RE in India, however, its launch date and details are yet to be revealed. The spotted model was painted in dual-tone marron and cream/off-white shade and appears to share most of its design elements with the RE Classic 350. It carries retro styling with a round LED headlight, curved fenders, teardrop shaped fuel tank and triangular side panels, borrowed from its younger sibling.
The bike also features wide handlebar, a split seat, mid-set footpegs and round LED taillight. It underpins the tubular steel frame along with the conventional telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers (possibly the preload adjustable). The spotted RE Classic 650 has wire-spoke rims with tube-type tyres. The higher variants might get the alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The braking power from the bike will come from the front and rear disc brakes, which will be further assisted by the dual-channel ABS.
When it comes to features, the RE Classic 650 is likely to get the Tripper navigation as a part of the MIY (Make It Yours) customization program.
For power, the new Royal Enfield Classic 650 will use the 648cc parallel-twin engine delivering a maximum power of 47PS and 52.3Nm of torque. It’s the same air/oil-cooled motor that powers the other RE 650 bikes. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
The forthcoming Classic 650 will be one of the most affordable 650cc REs in the country. Its estimated to be priced around Rs 5.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
