The Tata Nexon EV, India’s top-selling electric car, has been introduced with a larger 45kWh battery pack, priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 16.99 lakh. With this update, the SUV’s Long Range version has become more affordable by Rs 60,000. Buyers can opt for the new 45kWh battery pack with the Creative, Fearless, Empowered, Empowered+, and the new Empowered+ Red Dark Edition trims, priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, Rs 14.99 lakh, Rs 15.99 lakh, Rs 16.99 lakh, and Rs 17.19 lakh, respectively. Please note that all mentioned prices are ex-showroom.

Compared to the Nexon EV with the 40kWh battery version, the new, larger battery variant is approximately Rs 70,000 more expensive. The new 45kWh battery is not available with the mid-spec Fearless+ and Fearless+ S trims.

The new Nexon EV, equipped with the larger 45kWh battery featuring prismatic cells and an electric motor (producing 145PS and 215Nm) mounted on the front axle, delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 489km on a single charge. The larger battery variants can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 40 minutes using a 60kW fast charger. It supports both V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging functionalities. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 150kmph.

Some of its other key features include a digital instrument cluster with maps, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a panoramic sunroof with voice assistance, a smart digital shifter, 300 SVS with BVM, auto-dimming IRVM, AudioworX with JBL audio modes and 9 speakers, rear AC vents, ventilated seats, multiple voice assistants, a 45W USB charger, an electric tailgate release, and fog lamps with cornering functionality.

For safety provision, the Nexon EV offers 6 airbags, hill hold control, all disc brakes, an electronic stability programme with iVBAC, EPB with auto vehicle hold, a tyre pressure monitoring system, SOS e-call/B-call, and a 360-degree camera.
