Talisman Indian batter Virat Kohli was spotted making his way to his hotel in Kanpur, where the Indian team is staying ahead of their second Test against Bangaldesh.

Known for his heartwamring gestures and his kindness towards fans, Kohli was unfortunately caught up in a bit of an awkward situation with a staff member at the hotel, who was welcoming the batter.

As expected, Kohli was greeted by a fleet of hotel staff and fans alike, who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the star batter. Upon arrival at the hotel, he was showered with gifts, flowers and given an elaborate welcome with a tilak on his forehead as well, as the Indian superstar patiently waited and engaged in all the activities.

After entering the premises of the team hotel though, the celebrations continued, as a staff member handed Kohli a bouquet of flowers, and extended his hand out for a handshake with the legend.

But, a flummoxed Kohli, juggling the flowers on one hand and his belongings on the other, turned down the gesture, stating to the staff member “Sir, 2 hi haath hain (Sir, I’ve got only two hands)”, and made his way along after politely thanking the member for his loveing gesture.

The 35-year-old made his return to the longest format after roughly eight months in the first Test against Bangladesh. However, the return proved to be an anti-climatic one as Kohli failed to deliver with the bat in both innings.

The first Test in Chennai proved to be yet another reminder of the issues that plague his batting, as time and again Kohli was found reaching outside the off-stump through which the edge carried on to the wicketkeeper.

Kohli will hope that the conditions in Kanpur would prove to be suited to him much better. Earlier reports suggest that a black soil pitch would likely be used which has a lesser bounce than that in Chennai. This could prove to be the catalyst needed to see Kohli get a big score on the board.
