Sanjiva Reddy conferred Ambekar Shram Ratna award

Hyderabad: The Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh, Mumbai, has conferred the coveted G.D. Ambekar Shram Ratna Award to Dr G. Sanjiva Reddy, president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) for his meritorious service over the decades.

The sangh is celebrating its 75 years in the service of the Indian labour movement.

The award was announced by Sachin Ahir, MLC and former minister of Maharashtra, and Gawde, director of G.D. Ambekar Institute of Labour Studies, Mumbai. They said that this was in appreciation and recognition of the yeomen services rendered by Reddy, especially in taking forward the movement.
Dr Sanjeeva Reddy has served as chairman of the labour cell of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). He voiced collective opposition to anti-labour policies that were unleashed due to unhindered globalisation.
G.D. Ambekar Institute of Labour Studies expressed their delight and said that Sanjiva Reddy has all along fought against indiscriminate globalisation.
