The ride quality is smooth in decent city traffic conditions. I have not taken it on the highway for a long ride yet.

My decision to book Jimny
I had a Baleno Zeta CNG, bought in May 2023. Although the car was just a year old, we decided to sell it as my wife was more keen on an automatic car and CNG availability in the Vasai area was a big problem with wait times upto 2-3 hrs. Given that the car was in good condition and driven close to 6k kms I got a good deal. I was very keen on buying a 4×4 throughout and given that there were offers going on on the Jimny, I decided to take the plunge.
My booking experience
The journey with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny Alpha AT began on August 12, 2024, when the original booking was made through KTS Nexa in Bhandup where I was promised delivery by the end of the month, unfortunately, the response was so poor from those guys and there was no clarity on the allocation despite multiple follow-ups, I cancelled the booking on 26th August and booked with Nexa Vasai on the same day since they had a ready stock of Bluish Black Alpha AT. I am still waiting for a refund from KTS NEXA Bhandup although it’s close to 24 days where the refund was told to be done in 15 days.
Delivery
I completed the PDI on 31 August. With all the formalities completed in the next few days, I selected the delivery date for 4 September 2024. The delivery experience was smooth, the vehicle was ready on time when we went to the showroom. I had asked for a few accessories like floor mat, door mat, door visor to be installed.
Experience so far
Coming from the Baleno, there is a huge change in the ride position and the seating arrangement is way higher from the ground with a clear front view. The ride quality is also smooth in decent city traffic conditions, not yet taken it on the highway for a long ride.
Modifications and accessories
- I was clear that I would upgrade the tyres. After reading the threads, I decided to upgrade to Apollo Aptura AT 217/75/R15, I got the set of 5 tyres for 20k with exchange.
- Ordered a 70mai Pro Plus+ A500S Dual Channel Car Dash Cam with a hardwire kit and got it installed.
- Removed the front grill and took it to the local paint shop and got the matt black color
Impressions so far
Completed close to 400kms so far and I am fully enjoying every moment with the Jimny, my wife also drives this with ease and 2.5 year old son is also happy that he got himself a small gear level.
Lastly thank you to TeamBHP forum members for posting all the amazing stories which helped me to take this decision to buy the Jimny and it’s been worth it.
