Gemini is Google’s newer and more advanced digital voice assistant that can easily understand natural language. However, it wasn’t as well integrated with Google’s own services as Google Assistant was. However, Google is improving on that front, and Gemini has now received Google Calendar integration.

Gemini can now use Google Calendar data to become more useful

The Google Calendar extension for Gemini is now rolling out widely. As a report from 9To5Google suggests, you might not find the Google Calendar extension in the Gemini app, but you can summon it using @Google Calendar while chatting with Gemini. You can also use it on Gemini’s website. You can use it to create, delete, or edit events.

You can use the Google Calendar extension to create an event at a specific date and time. You can add the event’s name, description, location, and reminder. You can reschedule events or rename them. You can ask Gemini about your upcoming event. Apparently, you can’t edit the description, location, or other details about an event.

Hopefully, the upcoming version of Bixby, which is said to be powered by large language models (LLMs), will be able to do the same in Samsung’s stock apps. This version of Bixby will reportedly be released with One UI 7.0 in the coming months. You can watch other Galaxy AI features in our video below.

Apple and Google have showcased new-generation AI-powered digital voice assistants, and Samsung is expected to showcase its answer to those assistants in the near future. Google seems to be ahead in this race, as it has released Gemini to millions of Android smartphones and tablets. Moreover, Gemini is available on the web as well.
