Superstar Rajinikanth was taken to the hospital on Monday night after complaining of stomach pain, according to a hospital source.

Superstar Rajinikanth has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai. The 73-year-old actor’s current condition is “stable”. The actor, who was last seen in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, was taken to the hospital on Monday night after complaining of stomach pain, according to a hospital source.

The actor will undergo an elective procedure under interventional cardiologist Dr Sai Satish, the hospital source said. The procedure will be done in the cardiac cath lab on Tuesday. Fans and well-wishers are eagerly awaiting updates on the actor’s health.

Rajinikanth, fondly known as “Thalaivar,” is one of the most celebrated and influential actors in Indian cinema. He has had a prolific career spanning over four decades, with numerous iconic films to his credit, including Sivaji, Baasha, Enthiran (Robot), Annaatthe, Petta, Kaala, Darbar, and Kabali. His recent project, the action-comedy Jailer, released on August 9, 2023, quickly became one of the biggest hits of the year, reaffirming his status as a box office powerhouse.

Before his hospitalisation, Rajinikanth was seen at the recent audio launch of his upcoming film Vettaiyan. The superstar not only made a memorable appearance but also set the stage on fire with his infectious dance moves. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan promises to be an action-packed entertainer set to hit theatres on October 10. The buzz surrounding the film has intensified, especially after the release of its official preview.

At the audio launch, Rajinikanth showcased his signature dance steps, perfectly matching the upbeat rhythm of the song. Vettaiyan also marks Rajinikanth’s 170th film. With an estimated budget of Rs 160 crore, Vettaiyan is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
