Tirupati Laddu Case: Investigation Paused

The Andhra Pradesh police have temporarily halted their investigation into the Tirupati temple ghee scandal. DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao announced that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe has been paused due to the ongoing Supreme Court trial. The investigation will resume based on future Supreme Court orders.

The Supreme Court is examining petitions about alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati laddus. During a recent hearing, the court asked Andhra Pradesh to “keep Gods away from politics.” The judges questioned whether non-conforming ghee was used in the temple’s prasadam.

The case centers on allegations that animal fat was used in laddus served at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala. The Supreme Court expressed concern that comments by officials might hurt religious sentiments. They advised against mixing religion and politics.

The Andhra Pradesh government stated they are investigating the issue. The Supreme Court has scheduled the next hearing of the Tirupati laddu case for Thursday. Temple authorities await further court directives.

This high-profile case has drawn attention to food safety and religious practices at one of India’s most famous temples. The outcome may have significant implications for temple administration and prasadam preparation across the country.
