The production-ready Dacia Bigster three-row SUV has been teased ahead of its global debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, scheduled to be held between 14th and 20th October. The same model will make its way to India as the 7-seater Renault Duster or Renault Bigster after the arrival of the new-generation 5-seater Duster next year. The teaser shows the rear profile of the SUV, featuring Y-shaped taillamps similar to those seen in its concept.
Most of its design elements are expected to be retained from the concept, including the wide, slim grille with illuminated elements, Y-shaped headlamps, a larger lower air dam with massive cladding at the bottom, air vents on either side, and a heavily creased bonnet. The Bigster concept was also equipped with pronounced fenders, short front and large rear overhangs, trapezoidal wheel arches, and high ground clearance.
Measuring around 4.6 meters in length, the Dacia Bigster (7-seater Renault Duster) will be based on the CMF-B platform and share several components with the new-gen Duster (5-seater). Dacia has stated that it will use recycled and unpainted materials inside and out for its upcoming SUV.
The engine specifications of the SUV are still under wraps. Globally, the Bigster SUV will be offered with petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrain options. In India, the 7-seater Renault Duster is likely to come with two turbo petrol engines – 1.2L and 1.6L. Both 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain setups will be available. The three-row SUV will feature multiple terrain modes – Eco, Auto, Mud/Sand, Snow, and Off-road.
The new Renault Bigster will compete against the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari. The upcoming 7-seater SUVs from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota will also rival the new Duster. More details on the product will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
