New Mercedes E-Class LWB Launched

The sixth-generation Mercedes E-Class LWB has been launched in India in three variants: E200, E220d diesel, and E450 4Matic, priced at Rs 78.5 lakh, Rs 81.5 lakh, and Rs 92.5 lakh respectively. Deliveries for the E200 will begin this week, while the E220d and E450 4Matic will be delivered around Diwali and mid-November 2024. This model is priced Rs 5.6 lakh higher than the BMW 5 Series LWB. Notably, India is the only right-hand drive market where the E-Class LWB is available.

Under the hood, the E200 is powered by a 2.0L petrol engine delivering 204bhp and 320Nm, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.5 seconds. The E220d comes with a 2.0L diesel engine generating 197bhp and 440Nm, completing the 0-100 sprint in 7.6 seconds.

The top-end E450 4Matic variant features a 3.0L V6 petrol engine producing 381bhp and 500Nm, capable of reaching 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 250km/h. All engines are paired with a 48V hybrid system and an electric motor, adding 23bhp and 205Nm of torque. The power is transmitted via a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is exclusive to the E450 variant.

The interior of the new E-Class LWB stands out with its triple-screen setup, including a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch passenger screen, all powered by the third-generation MBUX system with integrated AI. The cabin offers luxurious features like a 730W 17-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system, wireless charging, a selfie camera, a large sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and advanced voice assistance.

On the safety front, the E-Class LWB is equipped with a Level 2+ ADAS system, featuring eight airbags, blind spot assist, and active brake assist. Rear passengers enjoy enhanced comfort with seats that can recline up to 36 degrees, neck pillows, extendable thigh support, and electrically operated blinds, along with sun blinds for the quarter glass. The E-Class LWB measures 5,092mm in length, 1,880mm in width, and 1,493mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,094mm.
