Tata Punch Facelift

The new Tata Punch facelift has been confirmed for a 2025 launch. The micro SUV is expected to receive a few noticeable changes inside and out, with some design updates possibly inspired by the Curvv. The micro SUV might feature slightly tweaked front and rear bumpers, a new headlamp assembly, and a revised bonnet design. Inside, minimal upgrades are expected, including a new digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, touch-based HVAC controls, an air purifier, and 6 airbags. Recently, the micro SUV was updated with a new 10.25-inch infotainment system featuring wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charger, a Type-C fast charger, and a new front armrest with storage and integrated rear AC vents. No changes are expected under the hood, as the 2025 Tata Punch will continue to use the 86bhp, 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Tata Harrier EV/Safari EV

The electric version of the Harrier and Safari SUVs are next on our list of upcoming Tata cars. The company showcased a near-production version of the SUV at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. The Tata Harrier EV features a new blanked-off grille, a revised bumper with angular creases, a split headlamp setup with blackened housing, and a new LED light bar spanning its width. Both the Harrier EV and Safari EV will be built on the Acti.ev platform, supporting FWD, RWD, and AWD systems. The platform is compatible with both permanent magnet synchronous motors and induction motors.

The electric SUVs will feature a technologically advanced cabin with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a new central tunnel with rotary dials for different driving modes, and a new twin-spoke steering wheel. Powertrain setups are likely to include a battery pack with a capacity of around 60kWh, dual electric motors, and AWD systems. The electric SUVs are expected to offer V2L and V2V charging capabilities, and a range of 400km to 500km on a single charge.

Tata Altroz ​​EV

Tata Motors showcased the Altroz EV at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo, and the production-ready version is now confirmed for a 2025 debut. Like the concept, the production-ready Altroz EV will likely feature a closed-off grille with integrated DRLs, contemporary headlamps, and a front air dam adorned with star patterns. Additional features include newly-designed alloy wheels, a revised tailgate, and a reworked rear bumper. The interior will receive a few EV-specific changes. Built on the Acti.ev platform, the Altroz ​​EV is expected to come with battery packs ranging from 25kWh to 35kWh. It will feature Tata’s Ziptron technology with a permanent magnet AC motor and a lithium-ion battery pack, offering a range of 300km to 430km on a single charge.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra lifestyle SUV will launch in FY2025, with both electric and ICE (internal combustion engine) powertrains. The design patent of the new Sierra EV has already been leaked online. Built on the Acti.ev platform, which supports various body styles and sizes, the Sierra EV will be the first model from Tata’s premium EV brand, ‘Avinya.’

The Sierra will be a lifestyle SUV with a feature-loaded interior, including a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit, and a digital instrument console. It is expected to offer two seating configurations: a regular 5-seater with a rear bench seat and a 4-seater lounge version. The lounge variant will feature independent rear seats with electric adjustment. The SUV will come with several high-end features, including ADAS, an electric sunroof, a digital driver’s display, ambient mood lighting, and individual screens for rear occupants in the lounge variant. It is likely to feature a 60kWh battery pack and a dual-motor setup, offering a range of around 500km on a single charge.

Tata Avinya EVs

The Tata Avinya EV, first unveiled as a concept in 2022, showcases the brand’s Gen 3 EV platform. Tata Motors has since confirmed that ‘Avinya’ will be the company’s premium EV brandoffering a lineup of electric SUVs and MPVs. These upcoming Tata EVs will overlap with the regular Tata EVs in terms of pricing and positioning. Tata’s new manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu will serve as the production hub for the Avinya EV range. All Tata Avinya cars will be based on JLR’s modular EMA architecture, which will be heavily localized to achieve competitive pricing.
