Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent comments in Jammu and Kashmir and Maharashtra accusing the opposition party of being controlled by “urban naxals”.
Launching a counter attack, Kharge termed the BJP a “terrorist party” while accusing it of “lynching people” and “committing atrocities against the scheduled castes, especially the tribals.”
“Progressive people are being called urban naxals…this is his habit. His party itself is a terrorist party. They do lynching, hit people, urinate in the mouths of people from scheduled castes, rape tribal people…they also support those people who do all these. Then they blame others, (PM)Modi has no right to say this. Wherever his govt is there, atrocities are committed on people of scheduled castes, especially tribals. Then he keeps talking about atrocities…it is your govt, you can control it…” Kharge was quoted as saying by ANI.

On October 5, while addressing a rally in Maharashtra’s Washim district, Modi had attacked the Congress, stating that the party had a foreign mindset and kept Dalits, tribals and OBCs out of the mainstream. “A family believes it has inherited the right to rule the country from the Britishers and thrives on divide and rule policy,” the PM said.
Claiming that Congress is being driven by “urban naxals”, Modi said, “All those who are against India’s emergence as a powerful country are close to the Congress.”
He accused the Congress of looting the poor. “They (Congress) think if we all unite, then their agenda to divide the country will fail,” he said at the rally after launching several projects.
Earlier on September 28, at a rally at the M A Stadium in Jammu ahead of the last phase of Assembly elections, PM Modi had accused the Congress of being “fully under the control of urban Naxals and speaking Pakistan’s language on surgical strikes.”
He referred to the 2016 surgical strikes and said, “The terror mentors know that if they do anything wrong, Modi will find them even in ‘Pataal’ (netherworld).”
“The Congress is the biggest party responsible for the loss of generations (to terrorism). From the time of Independence, the party’s wrong policies encouraged inimical forces,” he said, adding that ceasefire violations used to be a routine along the borders in Jammu because “they (Congress) used to show them white flags.”
Accusing the Congress of being under the “influence of urban Naxals”, the PM said, “When intruders come from outside, they feel good because they see them as a vote bank. But for the problems of our own people, they make fun.”
