Directed by TJ Gnanvel, Vettaiyan is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, marking the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after their 1991 film Hum.

As for ticket sales, Vettaiyan’s advance sales in the USA have crossed $630,000, with total North America premiere advance sales at $805,000.
The film is on track to achieve a $1 million premiere in North America, making it Rajinikanth’s third-best opening after Kabali and Jailer.

There’s even a chance it could surpass Jailer’s record, which had a premiere gross of $948,000 and a Day 1 reported gross of $622,352.

On its first day, Vettaiyan is expected to earn around Rs 40 crore in India, with an additional Rs 25-30 crore anticipated from international markets. The worldwide first-day earnings could surpass Rs 70 crores.
At 73 years old, Rajinikanth’s ability to draw crowds to theaters is remarkable and will surely be noted in film history.
While Jailer had a strong opening as it was front-loaded, Vettaiyan has the potential to show a good trend based on audience word of mouth.
