Indian buyers have been spoiled with choices when it comes to the sub-4 metre SUV segment, ranging from the most affordable Nissan Magnite to the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq. In early 2025, three all-new models will join the bandwagon – the Skoda Kylaq, Kia Syros/Clavis, and the new-generation Hyundai Venue. Let’s take a quick look at key details of these upcoming sub-4 metre SUVs.
Upcoming Sub Compact SUVs In India
Skoda Kylaq

The Skoda Kylaq will be the brand’s first attempt in the sub-4 metre SUV segment and is slated to debut on 6th November 2024. It will be the third Skoda to be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. Official teasers reveal that the subcompact SUV will carry Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language and feature a familiar wide front grille with vertical slats and headlamps with a split setup. It will share most of its design elements with the Kushaq but will have a slightly shorter wheelbase and shorter front and rear overhangs. The upcoming Kylaq could be offered with a single 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 115bhp and 178Nm of torque.
Kia Syros

Kia India has been testing a new sub-4 metre SUV that’s likely to be named Clavis or Syros upon launch. Spy images confirm that the new Kia Syros will have a boxy and upright stance with features such as front parking sensors, ADAS tech, and a 360-degree camera. However, these features could be reserved for the top trims. The micro SUV will also come with a panoramic sunroof along with six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, rear disc brakes, LED lighting, etc. The infotainment system and digital instrument cluster will be sourced from the Seltos. The Syros will initially be introduced with an ICE (internal combustion engine) powertrain, followed by its electric version.
New-Gen Hyundai Venue

Hyundai’s Venue will be introduced in an all-new avatar in early 2025. Codenamed QU2i, the 2025 Hyundai Venue will come with a significantly improved design and more tech and features, while the engine setup is likely to be carried forward from the current generation. Minimal changes are expected inside the cabin. However, the biggest update will come in the form of ADAS tech. The existing 1.0L turbo petrol, 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol, and 1.5L diesel engines will continue to be offered.
