Travis Hunter is set to play against Arizona on Saturday.

The Heisman hopeful star Colorado defensive back and wide receiver missed the second half of the Buffaloes’ 31-28 loss to Kansas State in Week 7 after suffering an apparent right shoulder injury in the first half. Hunter had played 44 of the first 45 snaps of the game before missing the final 13 plays of the second quarter and the entire second half.

“Travis should play for certain on Saturday, Jimmy [Horn] as well,” Colorado coach Deion Sanders said at his weekly news conference Tuesday.

Colorado missed both Hunter and Horn immensely in the second half. Not only did Colorado need to replace Hunter on both sides of the ball, Horn was also injured in the first half and didn’t play in the second half. Hunter is the team’s leading receiver with 49 catches for 587 yards and six TDs. Horn is the team’s No. 2 receiver with 26 catches for 347 yards and one TD.

Omarion Miller stepped up in their absence. He entered the K-State game with just two catches on the season and had eight grabs for 145 yards against the Wildcats. However, he suffered a left leg injury on that eighth catch and Sanders said Tuesday that he doesn’t anticipate Miller returning this season.

“I think he had surgery yesterday, so I don’t think he’ll be back this season,” Sanders said.

The loss to Kansas State dropped Colorado to 4-2 overall, but it was the Buffaloes’ first Big 12 loss of the season. Colorado is still fully in the mix for the Big 12 title. Only three teams in the conference are undefeated in conference play and eight of the league’s 16 teams have two or more conference losses already.
