Actress Rashmika Mandanna has taken on a new role as the national ambassador to promote cyber safety. This comes after she was the target of a deepfake AI-generated video that appeared online last year, prompting discussions about digital security. Drawing from her own experience, Rashmika aims to raise awareness about the dangers of cybercrime and encourage online safety. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Rashmika as the National Ambassador for Promoting Cyber Safety. In this role, Rashmika will lead nationwide campaigns to educate the public about the risks of cybercrime, including online fraud, deepfake videos, cyberbullying, and harmful AI-generated content. Rashmika also shared a video on Instagram announcing the news.

Responding to this, Rashmika said “Cybercrime is quite dangerous and a threat for individuals and businesses across the world. I am dedicated to raise the awareness about the issues and spreading a message about cyber safety. We have to come together to combat the threats to protect our digital space”. Rashmika also posted a video on her official social media page and she revealed about the deepfake video of her posted on social media. She then decided to spread awareness about cyber safety. On the work front, Rashmika will next be seen in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule that is slated for December 6th release.
