Hyundai Inster Cross has been unveiled for the global markets. It’s essentially a new, off-road focused variant of the Inster EV that will make its way to India towards the end of 2026. The Hyundai Inster EV Cross will enter into production by the end of 2024 at the brand’s Korea-based manufacturing facility. Compared to the Inster EV, the new off-road variant carries bold styling elements enhancing its rugged looks. The carmaker says that the “INSTER Cross offers option for those looking for EV with more adventurous look”. It’s claimed to offer “enhanced manoeuvrability, practicality and flexibility”.
The Inster Cross appears very rugged with a few cosmetic enhancements made over the regular model. It comes with the new rectangular front and rear bumpers, black cladding around the wheel arches, faux skid plates, and new 17-inch alloy wheels. The new roof rack, which is standard across the model lineup, add more to its outdoor looks. Hyundai has also introduced a new Amazonas Green Matte colour scheme along with the all regular shades available with the Inster EV.

Inside, the Hyundai Inster EV Cross has unique colour and trim combination – Grey cloth with lime-yellow accents. You can notice the lime-yellow accents on the dashboard as well. In terms of features, the Inster Cross offers a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen with the wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging dock placed in the centre console, steering with interactive pixel lights, Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car services, heated seats and steering wheel, one-touch sunroof, 64-colour LED ambient lighting, Hyundai Smart Sense Technology – ADAS, rear view monitor, seven standard airbags, parking collision avoidance assist rear, lane keep assist and parking distance warning and more.
The Hyundai Inster Cross could be offered with the two battery packs – 96bhp, 42kWh and 113bhp, 49kWh – promising a WLTP range of 300km and 355km, respectively. Both motors will have single-motor setup. Its battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes by using a 120kW DC charger. The Inster Cross EV will miss out on the 4X4 or AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
