Mahindra & Mahindra has an aggressive product strategy for the Indian market, especially in the EV segment. The carmaker has been testing its upcoming born-electric EVs, with the first one set to hit the road in the next couple of months (by December 2024). Called the Mahindra XUV.e8the SUV is essentially the electric version of the XUV700. Its specifications are still under wraps, though the carmaker has confirmed that its INGLO platform-based EVs will come with battery packs ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh, delivering a claimed range of up to 500km. This architecture is compatible with both AWD (all-wheel drive) and RWD (rear-wheel drive) setups.
Spy images confirm that the production-ready Mahindra XUV.e8 will stay true to its concept, featuring connected LED DRLs, inverted L-shaped indicators, and LED headlamps with a split pattern. An ADAS radar has also been spotted positioned on the front bumper. Inside, the EV will feature a tri-screen setup, a two-spoke steering wheel, wireless phone charger, powered seats, six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, and many more goodies.
The XUV.e8 electric SUV will be followed by the Mahindra XUV 3OO EV, which has been spied testing multiple times. The model is likely to share its powertrains with the XUV400 EV, which comes with 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery packs, paired with a single electric motor. Its range is expected to be around 375km and 456km, respectively.
Furthermore, many of its interior elements will be borrowed from its elder EV sibling – the XUV400. The Mahindra XUV 3OO EV will feature dual-tone Black and White upholstery, copper inserts, a freestanding touchscreen, wireless phone charger, etc. Compared to its ICE version, the electric XUV 3OO will have slightly different styling with revised fenders and bumpers, redesigned headlamps, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and a charging port on the front right-side fender.
