Volkswagen Taigun sub-4 metre SUV and Virtus midsize sedan, which are based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform, are all set to receive a major mid-life update in 2026. Prices for their facelifted models are expected to be announced by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Details of both vehicles are scant at this point in time. However, the new Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus are likely to feature noticeable cosmetic changes and feature upgrades. Design changes could be inspired by Volkswagen’s globally sold new models.

The top-end trims of both models are already equipped with a 10-inch infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, USB Type-C ports, ambient lighting, a cooled glovebox, push-button start/stop, wireless charging pad, cooled front seats, etc. On the safety front, the SUV and sedan offer six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and hill-start assist.
No changes are expected to be made under the hood. The new Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus facelifts will continue to offer two TSI turbocharged petrol engines – a 1.0L, 3-cylinder and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder. While the former delivers 115bhp and 175Nm, the latter produces 150bhp and 250Nm. Both engines will continue to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0L and 1.5L TSI engines will be exclusively available with a 6-speed torque converter and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, respectively.
