
TIRUPATI: Nellore city legislator and minister Ponguru Narayana and rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy have both vowed to end the flexies culture in the city and rural assembly constituencies.
Erection of flexies of political leaders belonging to various political parties has turned into a menace of late at the politically vibrant Nellore city of late.
Acknowledging the concerns of the denizens of the city, minister Ponguru Narayana directed the officials of the Nellore municipal corporation to study the manner in which a no flexies initiative was launched by the neighbouring Tamil Nadu govt at Chennai city by releasing a special govt order.
Meanwhile, Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy appealed to all his followers not to present him bouquets or shawls nor erect flexies for him but to spend the same money in the form of a contribution for the maintenance of Anna canteens.
Both the leaders have appealed to all political parties to extend cooperation to make Nellore a flex-free city in the next few months.
