Andhra Pradesh women's commission chief Vasireddy Padma quits YSRCP

VIJAYAWADA: Former Andhra Pradesh women’s commission chairperson and senior leader Vasireddy Padma has resigned from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). She has been with Jagan Mohan Reddy since the party’s launch.
In a letter to former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Padma stated that she decided to quit the party because she did not see any effort to honestly reflect on the recent election defeat. She expressed that Jagan had failed to take responsibility for the party, the government, and the people.
Padma criticized Jagan for lacking a human touch in leadership and was shocked to see him promising promotions to party members as if it were a corporate company.
“Jagan is coming up with a good book concept to deceive people. We need to have a heartfelt approach to win over the people and party cadres, not just a good image,” she said.
She accused Jagan of misleading party leaders, cadres, and the public with false narratives. Despite personal differences, she had remained in the party as a disciplined soldier. However, she expressed disappointment in Jagan’s failure to reflect on the party’s humiliating defeat in the recent elections. Padma concluded that the YSRCP has no future in the state as Jagan is not willing to change his ways.
