A gruesome murder occurred early Thursday morning at Vijayawada railway station, where a 52-year-old loco pilot was brutally attacked while on duty.
Eyewitnesses reported that the loco pilot, identified as Ebenezer, suffered fatal head injuries after being struck with an iron rod by an unidentified assailant. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. CCTV footage from the station shows a man, reportedly shirtless, fleeing the scene shortly after the attack.
The police are actively investigating the case. “We are looking into the motive behind the murder and are working diligently to apprehend the suspect,” stated Vijayawada railway police inspector M. Ravi. The railway police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
