HYDERABAD: Despite the uncertainty in Israel as there is no end in sight to its war on Hamas, workers from India continue to fly into the country. At least 200 more skilled construction workers and caregivers from Telangana and Haryana have landed in Tel Aviv in the past two weeks.

Hundreds of Indian workers arrived in Israel to take up jobs

In the batch that flew from New Delhi on Oct 14, there were 80 workers from Haryana and 35 from Telangana.Prior to that some more had reached Tel Aviv in various batches on different days.
“We will be beginning our work soon after an orientation,” said Tirupati (39) from Jagtial district.
“It is not that we are not aware of what is happening in Israel. I spoke to some Telangana workers who got here earlier and they explained there was no need to have any fear of working here,” Tirupati told TOI on phone, adding that he had earlier worked in the construction industry in Dubai as a rod bender.
He said that he was able to go around the city in the past four days due to holidays in view of a local religious festival ‘Sukkot’. Some other workers went to the Mediterranean sea and spent time there, he said.

Undeterred by war

Another man from Telangana, Rajesh Medichelmala, who has been working in Israel, said that most of those who arrived recently are from Jagtial, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, and Adilabad.
Swamy from Nirmal, who was also selected to go to Israel but could not join due to an accident, said: “I informed authorities about it. After I recover, I will travel to Israel to take up the job.
Like Tirupati, Swamy is also a rod bender in the construction industry with nearly 18 years of experience.
