Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner P. Sampath Kumar has asked the officials to write a letter to the HPCL authorities seeking an explanation over why they had failed to hand over the Skill Development Centre Building at Mudasarlova in a proper condition. He visited the building on Saturday morning and found it in a bad condition, requiring repairs.
Mr. Sampath Kumar observed that debris was found in all the blocks and the building was in a dilapidated condition. He directed the Engineering Department officials to prepare estimates to give a facelift to building and make it attractive again. It may be noted that the Skill Development Centre was shifted to the Dwaraka Bus Complex building.
Development of Bheemunipatnam
Meanwhile, Mr. Sampath Kumar made a whirlwind tour of Bheemunipatnam on Saturday and assured to to take up several development activities.
He directed the officials to prepare proposals to construct a boundary wall between the beach and the road near Bheemunipatnam Beach, following a complaint from Corporator G Chinni Kumari about the damage of road and vehicles. He also directed the officials to prepare proposals to give a facelift to the Indoor Stadium as sports complex at Gollalapalem and construction of a Kalyana Mandapam in the shopping complex space near the Fish Market.
GVMC Superintending Engineer Yedukondalu and a few others were present.
