According to reports, director Nag Ashwin has shot some of the film’s scenes at the historical Nageswara Swamy (Shiva) temple buried in sand dune at Perumallapadu, near Chejerla, in Nellore district. This report is presently doing the rounds on the Internet.

Scenes of Amitabh Bachchan Were Shot At The Temple

Remember the opening scene of a cursed Ashwathama (Amitabh Bachchan) where he first appears in a temple – where he meets the kid Raya in Kalki 2898 AD? The scene where the actor has been hiding all the years! These scenes were reportedly shot at the historical Nageswara Swamy temple buried in sand dune at Perumallapadu, near Chejerla, in Nellore district. The photos and videos of the temple are now going viral. Netizens believe that the scenes were shot at the temple and the visuals were later enhanced in Vfx for better appeal.

Temple A Tourist Attraction

According to localities the temple was consecrated by Lord Parasurama, an avatar of Lord Vishnu. The temple may have got buried in the sand dunes probably after the 1850 Penna River floods. Ever since reports of Kalki 2898 AD being shot at the temple have emerged localities and scores of people from other neighboring areas started visiting the temple and clicking selfies. The temple has now become a tourist hotspot.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 continues its rampage at the box office. The Prabhas-starrer is unstoppable as it scripts new records worldwide.
