After a long wait of 16 years, Ghajini is finally getting a sequel. The reports came out last month where Aamir Khan spoke to producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena about the same.
As per the latest update, Suriya, who appeared in the original Tamil version, has also joined in, with the makers taking a completely new approach for the second part.

The producers additionally pitched the idea to Aamir for the sequel and the actor has agreed to the same, telling the makers to return to him with a storyline. Furthermore, Suriya has confirmed that the film would be made simultaneously in Tamil.
While speaking in a recent interview, Suriya said that he was surprised to see Allu Aravind coming to him with a new idea. The actor stated that the latter even asked him if the film was possible and he agreed to the same.

Although Suriya did not reveal anything about a release date, he confirmed that the film would happen and discussions are going on.
On the other hand, a source stated that the makers are planning to release the sequel in Hindi and Tamil at the same time. The reason for the same is that Suriya and Aamir Khan are not willing to add the remake tag to the project.

The source added that both actors are concerned that there would be no novelty factor in case one version is released after the other. The insider also stated that the script is being prepared.
However, further updates are currently awaited on whether A.R. Murugadoss will return to helm both versions.
