The upcoming Royal Enfield electric bike was recently caught on camera for the very first time in Barcelona. The model is all set to make its first public appearance at the 2024 EICMA show on 4th November. The spied e-bike appears similar to the leaked patent filed by the manufacturer. It carries a circular LED headlamp, tear-drop-shaped panels, adjustable levers, round mirrors, indicators mounted on the handlebar, and alloy wheels. Its TFT screen seems to be borrowed from the RE Himalayan 450.
You can notice that the RE’s e-bike has lots of aluminum body construction, hinting it will be lightweight. The bike’s frame construction hints that there will be a non-removable battery. Specifications of the upcoming Royal Enfield electric bike are still under wraps. However, it’s likely to offer a range of 200km–250km on a full charge.
Codenamed Electrik01, RE’s e-bike will be based on the brand’s all-new ‘L’ platform, co-developed by Royal Enfield and Stark Future SL – the Spanish EV two-wheeler manufacturer.
The launch date and details of the Royal Enfield electric bike are yet to be revealed. However, it’s likely to hit roads in early 2026. Prices of the e-bike are likely to start around Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will go up against the Ultraviolette F77 and the Raptee.HV T30.
With its first electric offering, Royal Enfield will target premium motorcycle buyers. Its production will take place at Royal Enfield’s new Cheyyar, Chennai-based manufacturing facility. The company has planned to invest around Rs 1,000 crore in the development of its future products and the establishment of sales infrastructure for electric bikes.
