OEMs are expanding their product portfolios with a new range of models across different segments, serving variety of requirements. In the family-oriented vehicle category, particularly MPVs, the two new models soon joining the bandwagon, namely, Kia Carens facelift and Nissan’s Triber-based MPV. Both these models will be budget-friendly offerings, let’s take a look at their key details.

Kia Lacking a Facelift
The updated Carens is reported to enter production by mid 2025, with a market launch shortly thereafter. The facelift will receive a few noticeable changes will be made to its design, especially at the front and rear ends. The compact MPV is likely to get a newly-designed grille, tweaked bumpers and revised headlamp clusters. Kia might revise its dashboard design along with adding features such as an ADAS suite and a 360 degree camera. No changes will be made to its engine setup. The 2025 Kia Carens facelift will continue to come with the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will also be carried forward.
Nissan’s Triber-Based MPV
Nissan India has confirmed a new compact MPV that will be based on the Renault Triber. Similar to its donor sibling, the new Nissan MPV will be designed on the CMF-A+ platform powered by a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor makes a claimed power of 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. Transmissions on offer are likely to be a manual and an AMT unit. While most of its design elements, interior layout and features will be similar to the Triber, it will receive a few cosmetic changes. The upcoming Nissan MPV will carry the brand’s familiar design elements such as a new grille, revised bumpers and newly-designed wheel covers. Inside, it might get new theme and different fabric upholstery.
