Bomb Threats: Bomb Threats Surge at Hyderabad Airport: Investigations Stalled | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Amid the growing incidence of bomb threats to flights, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police have registered five FIRs in the past one week alone. Despite taking up investigations, police have drawn a blank as no leads emerged. Police claimed that the accused were using anonymous X handles to issue these threats.
Shamshabad assistant commissioner of police K Srinivas Rao said multiple law enforcement agencies were working on these cases, but no breakthrough has been made yet. “Apart from the five FIRs, another bomb threat was reported on Friday. Previously, most of these threats were made by mischief mongers. However, over the past one week, there is a pattern that needs to be thoroughly investigated,” he said.
On Oct 20, B Sreeman Narayana Reddy, a private company employee, filed a complaint alleging that there was a post on X and the information was received at RGIA at 1.23 pm regarding an Akasa Air flight. At 3.30 pm, another post flashed on X regarding a Star Air flight. Both the messages were sent from the same handle @schizophrenia111. The posts warned that “12 men are onboard 6 of your planes with bombs (2 on each). Everyone will end up in a grave.”
In a separate complaint on Oct 19, Reddy reported receiving another bomb threat targeting flights by Air India, SpiceJet, Vistara, Star Air, Batik Air and Air India. This message claimed bombs were placed on board five planes, warning, “No one will make it out alive. Hurry up and evacuate the planes.”
On Oct 22, MV Girish, an airline staff member, filed a complaint claiming that he received a message from X handle @chetansingh444 warning of bombs on board 10 planes with the threat, “No one will get out alive today.”
The same day, Indigo flight 6E67 (HYD-JED), which took off at 6.30 am, safely landed at its destination. On the same day, another FIR was registered after Reddy filed a complaint stating Indigo, Vistara and Akasa Air reported receiving messages from the handles @Tulip17849 and @Lucas_ with claims that “terrorists Lucas and Tulip placed bombs on 13 planes.”
Most recently, on Oct 24, another FIR was registered based on a complaint by Rakesh Kumar Sharma, who reported that @adamlanza333 made a post on X, threatening flights of Air India, Indigo, Alliance Air, Akasa Air and Vistara. The threatening message addressed to Indigo said, “I planted bombs onboard 20 of your planes. NO ONE WILL GET OUT ALIVE. TREAT THIS AS YOUR LAST DAY.”
