Do Patti has finally released on Netflix today and fans have started pouring in their early reviews online. It is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and marks the debut of Kriti Sanon as a producer.
With Kriti in double role of twin sisters Saumya and Shailee, Kajol playing a cop and Shaheer Sheikh as a spoilt brat businessman – there was quite a buzz about its OTT release. However, after its release it has received mixed reviews.

Fans feel that the theme is quite serious and Kanika Dhillon has established a storyline that deals with the serious issue of domestic violence quite respectfully. Yet the performances are overdone and the narrative seems predictable.
Many X users said that other than Shaheer Sheikh no one did justice to their screen time. Kajol and Kriti exaggerated their roles which were not written with much depth to begin with.

In spite of being relevant, the storyline lacks nuances expected from a film that focuses on abuse and victimhood. Rather than giving an organic narrative the frontline, fans feel that needlessly the performances were given the centre stage.
Although, it can be given a try as it deals with something worth discussing. It might have not been a lost opportunity if the direction was less pretentious.
