Hyderabad: Hundreds of students eager to explore education and career opportunities thronged the Choose France Tour 2024 held in the city on Friday.
The education fair, organised by the French govt, offered Indian students an opportunity to explore higher education opportunities in France and brought together 50 French universities and higher education institutions.
Free counselling was available from advisors to help students navigate through the various career options.
Kevin D, a Class 9 student of NASR School, who aspires to study law, expressed his excitement at the event, saying, “I came here to explore the possibilities with my teacher and found out that they accept students after high school and learning French was also recommended.”
The Alliance Française network, which offers French language and cultural immersion programmes, provided information on how learning French can enhance both academic and career prospects. For students interested in studying French, special Classes Internationales (International Classes) have been set up. This programme allows students who have little or no knowledge of French to spend a foundation year in France learning the language through thematic courses relevant to their field of interest. At the end of this first year, students can enter the Bachelor’s programme of their choice.
As well as students, professionals also flocked to the event. Venkat Kumar, an IT professional working with TCS, said, “I have already applied for an MBA through a consultancy firm and now after three years of work experience, I want to pursue management studies.”
Similarly, Sai Bharat, who wants to enter the niche of brand management, said, “The French practically invented luxury branding and I have chosen SKEMA Business School for my studies in luxury brand management.”
