
TIRUPATI: Nellore member of parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy sought the chairman of the national medical commission (NMC) Dr BN Gangadhar to allocate new postgraduate seats in the orthopaedics and general surgery departments at the prestigious AC Subba Reddy government medical college in Nellore.
During his meeting with the NMC chairman at the national capital New Delhi on Thursday, Vemireddy submitted a representation on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government doctors association (Nellore).The MP requested the allocation of PG seats for the 2024-25 academic year in these specific departments.
Vemireddy emphasised that allocating new seats in these specialties would benefit young doctors and provide better medical care to the poor. He also explained that this move would contribute to the overall development of the district hospital.
Meanwhile, Nellore MP also met Niti Ayog chief executive officer BVR Subramanyam on Thursday.
