Directed by Sahit Mothkuri, the movie Pottel starred Yuva Chandra Krishna as the hero and Ananya Nagella as the heroine. This movie was released today. And let’s go to the review and find out how much it pleased the audience!

Story:

The story of this potel takes place in the 1970s and 80s. This story takes place in a town in the border region of Maharashtra and Telangana. It is the norm and custom of that village to sacrifice a pottel to the village deity Balamma once in a fair. Also, the people of that place blindly believe that the village Patel is blessed with Balamma. However, Patel (Ajay) of the village has been in love with Balamma since childhood. In this background, Patel shows his monstrosity in the guise of Balamma Poonakam. On the other hand, the elder Gangadari (Yuva Chandra) leads the life of shepherding sheep which is inherited from his childhood without his will. As a part of that, the elder Gangadari grows ‘Pottel’, which is considered by the people of the village as a blessing from ‘Balamma’ mother. In the course of some dramatic developments in this sequence, how did elder Gangdari educate his daughter Saraswati with the help of teacher Duryodhan (Srikanth Iyengar) against Patel? What did he achieve in the matter? That is the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

The film shows how the underprivileged and Dalit people were troubled by the Patel system in Telangana, and how much they were crushed as slaves. Similarly, the quest and anguish of a father to educate his daughter is impressive in the movie. As the background of the story is forty or fifty years ago, the set-up has also been designed well along with the filming of the characters to suit the conditions of that time. The drama between Patel and the hero is also good.

And Chinnari sentiment and Balamma (Ammoru) elements increased interest in the movie. Coming to the actors.. Yuva Chandra’s role is good. Yuva Chandra also acted very well in his role. He impressed with his realistic acting in some emotional scenes. Ananya Nagalla who played the heroine in this movie also impressed with her performance. She impressed with her performance in some emotional scenes. Ajay who played another key role acted very well. He was a special attraction of the movie itself. Also, Chhatrapati Shekhar, Tanaswi Chaudhary, Priyanka Sharma, Noyal, Srikanth Iyengar and the rest of the cast have also impressed in their roles.

Minus Points:

The director, who handled the emotions effectively in this movie, stretched some key scenes very slowly. In fact, although the story background Taluk scenes are well written, the rest of the scenes, especially the scenes in the middle of the second half, should have been made more interesting.

Also, the elements of the Patel system in Telangana may not seem so interesting to the present generation. However, the attempt to tell this generation what that system was like should be appreciated. If not, the film would have been better off if the effort had been interesting. Similarly, the character of the hero should be written more strongly.

Technical Department:

Director Sahit Mothkuri, who is successful in taking a good story setting, has struggled in some places in writing thrilling scenes. But, the scenes created by him are good. Music director Shekhar Chandra’s music is good. The cinematography work is a special attraction of the movie itself. The editing is also good. And the producers should be congratulated for believing in the director’s idea and presenting such a diverse film to the Telugu audience. The production values of producers ‘Suresh Kumar Sadige, Nishank Reddy Kudithi’ are very good.

Verdict:

This emotional periodical drama called ‘Pottel’ is giving a new experience to the audience. Especially the background of the story, some emotional elements are impressive. However, the screenplay is slow and some scenes are not interesting. Overall, those who like different, new type of emotional dramas will like this movie.
