The Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by the CBI, Maharashtra state, and the Bureau of Immigration challenging the Bombay High Court’s decision to cancel the look-out-circulars (LOCs) issued against Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and her father Lt Col Indrajit Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The court said the petition was “frivolous” and was filed only because the accused were “high-profile.” Earlier, the Bombay High Court had cancelled the LOCs issued by the CBI against the three individuals, allowing them to travel abroad.
The court allowed Rhea Chakraborty to travel to Dubai for a meet-and-greet event, even though the investigating agency strongly opposed it. In earlier hearings, the court had questioned the justification for issuing a lookout notice, as there was only a first information report filed against the actor.
