TIRUPATI: In yet another setback for the ruling YSRCP, the party’s 7th division corporator from Nellore Kinnera Malyadri joined the Telugu Desam party in the presence of party chief and former Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at Hyderabad on Monday.
Former TDP minister Ponguru Narayana led Kinnera Malyadri and his followers to Naidu’s meeting.
The YSRCP which won 10 out of 10 assembly seats in Nellore district in the 2019 general elections is witnessing an unprecedented crisis in the run-up to the 2024 general elections as three of its sitting MLAs Anam Ramnarayana Reddy (Venkatagiri), Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy (Nellore rural) and Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy (Udayagiri) shifted loyalties to the TDP.
On the other hand, YSRCP’s Nellore Lok Sabha nominee and district party president Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has gone into an exile in the last 10 days.
Speaking to reporters, Ponguru Narayana said the exodus from the YSRCP camp would further increase right before the elections as even the ruling party leaders are gradually losing confidence in the party leadership.
