AirAsia to fly direct to Visakhapatnam


BANGKOK, 23 January 2024 – AirAsia is introducing a new route from Bangkok-Don Mueang to the city of Visakhapatnam in India, flying three times weekly from 9 April 2024.

AirAsia guests can now  experience the seaside city in India’s east with fares starting from only 2,900 THB.

With this new route, AirAsia will be the airline with the widest network connecting Thailand to India, emphasizing the strong testament to its commitment toward the growing India market.

Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Thailand, said: “AirAsia plans to continue its expansion in India to tap on the market’s high tourism potential. We see that Thai tourism can fit into every group of travelers with a range of attractions and activities, from shopping, leisure and natural sights, to cultural attractions,  hospitality and wellness services. We believe that this new route will create an important opportunity for stimulating tourism and economic growth between both nations.”

AirAsia Thailand now flies 10 routes between India and Bangkok in Thailand, serving flights to Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi, Bangalore, Gaya, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Guwahati and latest addition Visakhapatnam. Indian travelers make up 80-90 percent of passengers on the routes, which maintain an average load factor of 87 percent, indicating India as a robust and growing market responsive to AirAsia.
