Visakhapatnam: Tribal welfare minister G Sandhya Rani on Saturday said menu charges in tribal welfare hostels across the state will be increased. The announcement was made during a district-level review meeting at the collector’s office in Parvathipuram-Manyam district.
“Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has approved the provision of dhobis in hostels. In addition to the cosmetic charges currently being paid to students, 10 crore is being spent to supply essential items such as trunk boxes, plates, glasses, and blankets to the hostels. A mega teacher-parent meeting is scheduled for Nov 14 which will focus on discussions regarding improvements in education, health, sports, and other areas affecting students. All hostels and schools must have well-maintained toilets equipped with running water facilities,” said the minister. Kurupam MLA Thoyaka Jagadeeswari raised concerns about lack of doctors at Mondemkhallu PHC and highlighted the ongoing water issues in his constituency.
