BHPian anu007 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: I finally got my hands on the stunning XUV700 AX7 D AT, and what a thrill it’s been! Just 20 days from booking to delivery-can you believe it? With a manufacturing date of September 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra has pulled off an incredible feat, slashing waiting times from the initial staggering 5-6 months to a mere couple of weeks! After driving just 120 kilometers on the way from showroom to residence taking the delivery, I was blown away by how it glides over the highways, leaving my loving previous rides – an i10 1.2, an i20 petrol, an 1.6 SX AT Creta Petrol, and even the current peppy 1.2 WagonR AMT-feeling like they’re crawling. I didn’t have to think long and hard for a name that captures its electrifying performance. “White Lightning” fits perfectly! And here’s the kicker: the mileage! On that very first day of 120 km drive, I recorded an impressive 14.5 kmpl, all while enjoying some spirited driving on a bustling two-lane highway. But the best was yet to come. The following week, I took a 50-kilometer stretch on a smooth four-lane highway, cruising at a leisurely 73 kmph at 5th gear with the ACC on and minimal downshift / braking. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the MID showed a jaw-dropping 23.8 kmpl! For a fleeting moment, it even ticked up to 24 kmpl before settling down just a whisker below. Insane for a car and engine of this size, putting many hatchbacks to shame in mileage front!!! And the bonus – no niggles till date after 1100 kms of driving in 15 days (except the thud sound from suspension on going over bumps). Kudos to Mahindra for making such astonishing efficiency possible! They’ve truly challenged the notion that diesel vehicles are the villains of global warming. With the XUV700, it’s clear that innovation and eco-friendliness can go hand in hand. I am more than happy for my choice, which almost left nothing more to be desired from my stead, barring the spare wheel, which I changed on the very first day itself, taking a 32k hit for wheel and tyre, M&M offering no exchanges sadly… Few pictures: Trying my hand to match the Big Daddy’s ad photo imitating tiger coming to pond to drink water, but failed miserably: Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
